REPRESENTATION DAILY DUTCH NEWSPAPER
Laura regularly advises De Telegraaf regarding defamation claims in press publications. Over the years she represented De Telegraaf in many court proceedings. Amongst others, Laura successfully represented De Telegraaf against a journalist who claimed that a 16 year old article about him was unlawful. In the article the journalist was linked to the leaking of state secret documents based on official documents.
Laura represented Ryanair in proceedings against PR Aviation relating to the use of Ryanair’s data on the website Wegolo. The European Court of Justice answered preliminary questions regarding contractual limitations to the use of a database by third parties, when the database does not receive protection on the basis of the 96/9 Directive. The case was referred back to the Court of Appeal. Laura represented Ryanair in these appeal proceedings.
REPUTATION MANAGEMENT FOR HEMA
Laura represented department store HEMA in several preliminary injunction proceedings against public broadcaster AVROTROS. AVROTROS planned to broadcast an unbalanced and incorrect story about HEMA’s make-up. Laura closely worked with HEMA’s public relations manager and legal team to successfully minimise the damage of the respective item.

Laura regularly advises Arla Foods in respect of marketing claims, including sustainability claims. Amongst others, Laura advised Arla Foods in respect of a complaint before the Advertising Code Committee in respect of the marketing campaign “klimaatneutraal” for Arla Biologisch.
