Ron received his master's degree from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2016 and was admitted to the Bar in 2017.
Ron advises and litigates in the fields of intellectual property, e-commerce and media and entertainment law. Ron represented the internationally operating Internet Service Providers regarding intermediary liability and has considerable experience in the field of defamation, slander, journalism, and unlawful (press)publications.
Ron is the go-to lawyer for clients in the entertainment and dance industry and advises regularly regarding (digital) events, streaming and the online sale of tickets and/or products.
In addition, Ron is a regular speaker for the Leiden Law Lunch (PAO Leiden) and is often asked by radio shows such as BNR Radio, NPO Radio 3 and Nieuws BV to comment on IT and Media related topics.
PROTECTING TRADE NAME
Ron successfully represented a sushi restaurant chain in interim relief proceedings concerning the use of a nearly identical trade name by a competitor.
Ron successfully invoked the bestseller provision on behalf of the creators of the Dutch movie Soof 2 in complaint proceedings before the disputes committee regarding copyright contract law (Geschillencommissie Auteurscontractenrecht).
