Rutger de Beer


Rutger is an experienced litigator. He specializes in soft IP, particularly in the areas of trademarks, copyright, designs, unfair competition and trade names.
Rutger obtained his master's degree in information law from the Institute for Information Law (IVIR) at the University of Amsterdam in 2015. He also studied at the University of Copenhagen (Københavns Universitet).
Rutger was admitted to the Bar in 2016. Since then, he has worked for law firms operating at the top of the Dutch IP market. Rutger has a strong focus on (international aspects of) litigation and regularly deals with evidence seizures and other protective measures. Clients appreciate Rutger's expertise and strategic approach to safeguarding his client's needs.
In addition to his litigation practice, Rutger enjoys writing articles on soft IP for (inter)national journals.

In the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister), Rutger de Beer has registered 'Intelectual Property Law' as his legal practice area. Based on this registration, Rutger is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in this legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
